From the time you enter Marrakesh you are greeted with the warm hospitality of our staff. The smiling faces and rich aroma of traditional Moroccan food immediately welcomes you as you enter. Our lamb tagine is a delicacy which is cooked in a fine blend of sweet fruits, spices and makes for a perfect mix of sweet as well as savory. Start the fare with a traditional ‘diffa’ which is a buffet of a holistic combination of various salads, meats and desserts. The carrot and cumin salad is laced with fine, fluffy potato squares and is sure to enhance the texture and taste of the salad.
For a more appetizing course the ‘Bastilla’ is perfect. Finely shredded chicken is chopped up with crisp, roasted almonds and then coated with sugar and cinnamon for that extra indulgence. You will love the sensuous mix of crisp, tangy, sweet and that oh-so-divine dash of cinnamon on top! Moroccan cuisine is about mixing textures and flavors to complement each other and produce a combination that is simply irresistible. For example you will find our phyllo cigars with dough especially tempting. These contain finely ground beef filling delicately tempered with exquisite spices. This is a great dish if you are looking for something that is less on the sweeter side. You will also love the Harira soup which we make. It has garbanzo beans and lentils delicately topped up with cinnamon and ginger to lend this soup an earthy, rustic flavor.
The divine lamb tagine
The lamb tagine is one of our delicacies in which we at Marrakesh particurally take great pride! Our very own chef par excellence Adil Nadir is renowned for the succulent lamb tagine he makes. Sample the tender pieces of lamb that have been cooked lovingly in various vegetables and fruits and finally served in an earthen vessel with a conical lid. The whole experience is nothing short of extraordinary! You will find lingering flavors of saffron, onions, cinnamon and garlic when you bite into the succulent lamb, crispy sesame seeds, almonds and prunes that seem to seduce your taste buds and senses alike!
Orange Blossom Creme Brulee: a fitting end!
If the lamb tagine took you to new heights of sensory delight our Orange Blossom Creme Brulee will deliver you to seventh heaven! The delicate citrus taste of oranges combined with the sweet cream make a heavenly dessert treat. However, if you overendulged in our entrees and want to top off with a mild dessert then our combination of orange slices submerged in orange blossom’s water and topped with poppy seeds and cinnamon will be just right for your appetite!
